Wear Red for Pentecost Sunday, May 11
Pentecost, a red letter day for the church, is
on Sunday, May 11 this year. Pentecost is a
very important event in the life of the church.
It commemorates the descent of the Holy
Spirit upon the Apostles and the inheritance
of the Holy Spirit for all believers, including
us! . Jesus kept his promise to send the Holy
Spirit (John 14:15-21). “Tongues like flames
of fire dispersed among them and resting on
each one” (Acts2:3). Council has proclaimed
May 11 WEAR RED DAY. Wearing red on
Pentecost is a symbol of our receiving the
Holy Spirit as the Apostles did on that day.
Try to wear red on Pentecost Sunday.

Beth Moore study will begin again March 27 at 7:15. We are on lesson 4. If anyone is interested in a daytime Beth Moore study from 10:00am to 12:00p.m. on Thursday please let Judy VanMeter know by calling
544-4004.

Our regular Sarah Circle meeting will be April 17. We will start on our Hospice Mission at that time so bring a sharp pair of sewing scissors.

Amy Smekrud, the director of the Mother's Day Out program needs our help in spreading the word to family, neighbors and friends. Fun Fridays is from 9:00 a.m. until Noon for children 18 months to 3 years of age.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in our fellowship room.   We will discuss the first book of the Pentateuch (Genesis). Did Moses write this book, which ends some 300 years before his birth, or were these historical records passed down from his forefathers?

What can members or congregations do?

Pray for our chaplains and service members.
Especially remember those who are deployed or whose service is dangerous. Remember, too, all service families who are without spouse or parent while they serve "away from home.

Reach out to military members
Congregations should reach out to their military members and others identified to them through prayer support, spiritual encouragement and mail and/or e-mail from home, including care packages.

Help our Lutheran servicemen and women stay spiritually strong
while they serve by enrolling them in the Ministry-by-Mail program. LCMS is the only denomination to support its members in such a direct way. Servicemen and women receive materials in an initial packet when their name is put into the program, then they regularly receive copies of Portals of Prayer and a special LCMS Armed Forces magazine. To add a member or update an address, call 1-800-433-3954 ext. 1337 or e-mail information to lcmschaps@lcms.org

Stay in touch with your congregation's military members.

Send "care" packages, an e-mail or a card as special ways of remembering them (and reaching out to their friends). This can be a great project for a Sunday school class or a group. If you don't personally know any servicemen or women, you can send greetings to armed forces' men and women in any branch of the U.S. military by using this Web site: http://americasupportsyou.com/americasupportsyou

Support this ministry.
LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces provides materials for the Ministry-by-Mail program, but also provides materials like "God's Word of Encouragement" in quantity to our chaplains for distribution to others they encounter in their daily ministries. All congregations receive a packet of materials to use in a May remembrance of military ministry and those who are or have served our country in uniform, usually in association with Armed Forces Day or Memorial Day. Another appropriate time for recognition and remembrance is Veterans' Day, Nov. 11. Your gifts provide materials for chaplains, service personnel and veterans.

You may now give to this ministry via the LCMS Mission & Ministry Online Giving Catalog, which offers a secure web connection hosted by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. You can also make a credit card contribution by phone. Call toll-free: 1-888-930-4438

Guardians Giving Club
Guardians are supporters of LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces who make annual commitments, provide regular gifts annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly. You will be able to walk with our chaplains at the tip of the spear in proclaiming the Good News to our servicemen and women serving our nation around the world.

PRAY FOR OUR NATION
God of liberty, we acknowledge Your reign. For the freedom of our land for the rights we possess, for the security of our laws, we praise You and thank You. Give guidance to our leaders watch over those who serve their country, raise up the poor, and exalt the humble. Make our nation great and strong, renowned in wisdom, prosperous in virtue, and renewed in faith. Destroy all signs of division: take away hatred and violence; fill us with Your peace. Make us one people, united in praising You, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Youth
Some of the exciting activities we offer here include a wide variety of outings and other events for all age groups. The youth activity calendar is filled by a group of outgoing, imaginative, and resourceful adults dubbed the Youth Council. The Youth Council has monthly meetings to make sure our youth are active in the church and in the community.

Worship
Not everything at Holy Trinity focuses on the youth. As a matter of fact, we have two Sunday worship services so anyone with a busy schedule can celebrate their weekly praise of God at 8:15 am or 10:30 am.

What We believe
Although this web page outlines much of what goes on in our church, you still might be a little unclear as to what Lutherans believe.
Lutherans are Christians.
Lutherans know Jesus Christ as our Savior.
We believe our lives depend on Him forever.
We live with sure hope of eternal life because of Jesus love.
We know we are not perfect, we stumble and fall all of the time on our daily walk with God.
But we never forget that our forgiveness for these stumbles and failures has been won and paid for by Jesus.
We look forward to having you worship with us!
